Becoming Multiculturally Responsible On Campus is designed to sensitize college students to diversity issues on campus. Unlike many other books that usually stop at the consciousness-raising level regarding cultural, racial, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic, and other differences, the authors hope to raise the ante by challenging students to become more responsible or accountable in their responses to actions in multicultural situations.

This book provides extensive exercises to increase interest in becoming more multiculturally responsible. These often involve diversity definition, reflections, or more challenging exercises that encourage people to move beyond the ponder stage and into personal action. This book offers recent diversity concerns on college campuses and individual solutions.

Each chapter ends with an "Awareness to Action" section and personal review questions, for further learning. Although the book uses college as the backdrop for the book, the exercises can easily be adapted for other settings, such as high school or employment. In addition, the book tries to balance different demographics rather than focusing solely on race or Black/White issues. It includes information regarding sexual orientation, Transgender, class 'socio-economic' issues and disability 'as well as many other ethnicities and cultures'.
